Instruments
Instrumentally, Panta Rhei incorporates both the familiar and
the remote – from Western tradition we have harp, guitar,
whistle and violin, while from Eastern tradition we find harp (the
original crossover instrument), tanbur, oud, and lyra. The mandocello’s
history is another musical and cultural bridge – based on
the Greek bouzouki and Italian mandolin, it was modified and brought
West in the early 1900’s.
